15 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG, we are 15 weeks. I am literally doing the happy dance. 15 weeks to me, seems so pregnant. I am not sure why. But when we were about 4 weeks, there was a girl in my Intended Parents group that was 15 weeks, and I just though, that is really pregnant.

It's been a crazy week. 84 of 88 counties in Ohio were hit by hurrican Ike! I was lucky and only had my water out for several hours and was on a boil alert for a couple days. Poor Buffy and family lost power last sunday night and it was expected to return the following weekend!!!!!! yikes, so she headed with the kids to her moms. She just got her power back on. I can't believe it. I was also lucky, we had no trees down, all my outdoor toys were fine.

In exciting news Buffy mentioned she thought she felt "flutters". When I heard that, of course I cried!

Here is what it says about 15 weeks;
Your little one is now the size of an apple. She is 4 inches long and weighs about 2 ½ ounces. Her legs are now longer than her arms and her bones are getting harder and stronger!

At 15 weeks, her skin is still thin and transparent, but she has developed a thin layer of hair to help protect her body. This layer of hair is called lanugo and it is present on every part of your baby's body, even her finger nails!

She is also moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract. This action helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. And even though her eyes will remain fused shut until approximately 26 weeks, she can actually sense light in your womb!

It also says she can suck her thumb!!!!!!!! So cute. I can't wait for the u/s to get to see the baby swimming all around.

This week is my appt. with Dr Ahuja to induce lactation. I am really excited to start. I am a huge advocate for nursing, mostly because my experiences were so wonderful. Granted the first two weeks are really hard and with each baby I suffered through several breast infections and thrush, however it was worth it. I did step into Motherhood Maternity last week, looking at the nursing tops, they have come a long way even since I had Bella which is nice. I like the "body shaper" (like a bra in a tank top) ones and now they have a good selection. I also started getting baby stuff in the mail!. Coupons and catalogs which are fun to browse. There are so many cute things.

One thing about infertility is all the great friends you make. If you remember my other post about Jen, who is a GS for M&B, they got their positive a couple weeks ago, they just found out they are having TWINS! Congrats to them. My friend "M" who also goes to the Cleveland Clinic, has been trying for a long time with 2 chemical pregnancies, found out she is expecting and her u/s is in two weeks. Congrats M. I love to celebrate with them.

Thanks for the 'shout out', Deana! LOL

I love reading your blog. You and Buffy are such a great match!

Pretty soon you'll get to feel your baby kicking!! I keep feeling flutters but someone is trying to convince me that its not possible at 10 weeks. I felt my second child move at 13 weeks...so I think I could feel twins at 10 weeks. They are the size of prunes right now, so who knows.
